  • Holiday Things To Do

Experience the spirit of the season at Mall of America this year! The Mall is focused on offering safe activities that the whole family will enjoy, like virtual visits with Santa at the Candy Cane Institute and dropping off holiday gifts at the Giving Tree Donation Drive-Thru. While you’re making memories at the Mall, be sure to pick up presents for those you love at 520+ retail stores. Before you head back home or to your hotel, pickup lunch or dinner to go at one of the many Mall restaurants and food court tenants!

  • Holiday Rewards: Spend $150 at Mall of America and redeem for a gift. Purchases must be made between November 16 - December 24, 2020 to qualify. Learn more about uploading receipts to the Mall of America App and reward options.
  • Enchanted Snowflakes: Witness the magical snowflakes’ choreographed light shows every 30 minutes during Mall hours.
  • Candy Cane Institute: Santa’s elves have established a research facility to help understand the modern meaning of Christmas. Explore the Christmas Lab, then have a Zoom call with Santa to tell him your Christmas wishes! (Only operating as a virtual experience)
  • The Santa Experience: At this socially distanced version of the traditional Santa visit, get the perfect photo op and tell Santa what you want for Christmas. (Santa By Appointment - only operating as a virtual meet and greet)
  • Catholic Charities’ Season of Hope in Action: The Giving Tree display will move to the North Lot this year, where you can drop off a donation for a family in need. Stay tuned to MOA’s PopShop Live channel – each week, they’ll feature a different tenant who carries items included on Catholic Charities’ Basic Needs List!

Due to Minnesota's Executive Order 20-99, the following holiday activities have been canceled.

  • Festival of Trees
  • Holiday Music Festival
  • PinkySwear Foundation Gingerbread Experience
  • The Sistine Chapel exhibit will be closed

Black Friday will last a whole week this year, with daily promotions and themed activities to kick off the holiday season. Visit Mall of America’s website to learn more about the plans for Black Friday week.
