The Bloomington Minnesota Travel & Tourism (“BMTT”) respects the privacy and confidentiality of individuals who visit the BMTT web site located at www.bloomingtonmn.org (“the BMTT Website”). The BMTT maintains this Privacy Policy to help you understand the commitment of BMTT to safeguard the privacy of the information you provide to the BMTT on the BMTT Website. This Privacy Policy outlines the information which BMTT will collect from you on the BMTT Website and how BMTT will use that information.

Collection of Your Personal Information by BMTT: When you engage in certain activities on the BMTT Website, such as signing up to receive our newsletter, purchasing products on the BMTT Website, or providing feedback on the BMTT Website, we may ask you to provide personal and other information. The BMTT’s mission is to provide you with personalized services and offerings designed to enhance your Bloomington, Minnesota, experience. To do so effectively, BMTT collects the following information:

Additionally, the BMTT engages third party information management service providers to help maintain efficient operations. Since such information management service providers may access our systems, such information management service providers may have access to your information. The BMTT does not transfer or relinquish ownership of information maintained about you within BMTT systems and databases to such information management service providers but requires these information management service providers to sign confidentiality agreements to keep all confidential information and other proprietary information found in our systems confidential.

The BMTT routinely collects, compiles, and reports statistics and information reflecting the use of the BMTT Website and information services in order to enhance membership services, advertising services, improve marketing and promotional efforts, analyze BMTT Website usage, improve the BMTT Website’s content and layout, generate aggregate reports on trends, interests and behavior and enhance service offerings.

The BMTT reserves the right to take any action the BMTT deems prudent or necessary to safeguard the BMTT Website and your information in the BMTT systems and databases from malicious or unwarranted attack by viruses, hackers, or other miscreants.

Collection and Use of Your Information by Third Parties: Please note that third parties offer goods and services on and through the BMTT Website. We assume each such third party has its own internal privacy policy and data collection and use practices. The BMTT does not have any responsibility for their practices. You should review the privacy policy and data collection and use practices prior to submitting information to such third parties.

Further to third parties offering goods and services, we may have functionality on the BMTT Website that is provided, in whole or in part, by a third party service provider. You can usually identify such third party functionality by the use of a trademark not owned by us on or otherwise provided near the functionality. In that case, when you use the functionality, you become subject to the terms of use and privacy policy of this third party in addition to the Privacy Policy of the BMTT Website. Please note that after the BMTT processes a change or deletes your personal information from active BMTT systems and databases, it is possible that non-active residual copies of your information may still exist in BMTT’s systems and on archive or backup media. Your Consent By using the BMTT Website, you consent to the collection and use of the above-described information by BMTT (and Target Third Parties, in which case, once such Target Third Party is in possession of your information, we cannot control such Target Third Party’s use of your information). Electronic Newsletters: We offer free, electronic newsletters, updates and e-mail reminders as a service to our registrants, based upon your voluntary subscription. You will only receive an electronic newsletter if you have requested it (opted-in) and provided us with your email address. We use your email address to send electronic newsletters, but do not share our mailing lists with any third parties, including advertisers or partners.

Control of your Password: You are required to control the security of your password. We are not responsible for any damages arising out of the loss or misuse of your passwords. If you have forgotten your password, please go to the appropriate page and enter your e-mail in the appropriate box and resubmit it. Your password will be e-mailed to you shortly thereafter.
