- Enjoy a family-friendly theatre performance at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis. CTC is the nation’s largest, most acclaimed, theatre for young audiences and features performances that educate, challenge, and inspire over 200,000 people annually. Performances available during the 2026 Spring Break Season are Dinosaur World Live and Forts! Build Your Own Adventure which is an interactive experience. Forts has weekday times available for spring break, March 17 – April 3.
- For those who are looking to participate in educational experiences, Bloomington and the Twin Cities offer many family-friendly museums to explore! In Bloomington, head to The Works Museum, a hands-on engineering and technology museum designed to inspire kids through interactive exhibits and creative STEM activities. In Saint Paul, check out either the Minnesota Children’s Museum or the Science Museum of Minnesota. - Take a walk through the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, a relaxing respite so close to our urban areas. With over 46 miles worth of trails within the Refuge, you will definitely be able to get your steps in!
- Vertical Endeavors is a rock climbing adventure for everyone, no matter the skill level! They even offer family classes. Break out of your comfort zone as a family and see for yourself all the benefits that rock climbing and bouldering have.
- Experience wooded turf trails right in the heart of Bloomington. Situated on a lake, Tierney’s Woods is a great place to take a walk through the trees, take a dip in the lake, have a picnic and just enjoy nature!
- If there is still snow on the ground, spend a day hitting the slopes at Hyland Hills Ski Area in Bloomington!
- Visit one of the Zoos in the Twin Cities area for a day of activity and education. The Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley is a top family destination featuring a wide variety of animal exhibits and immersive habitats from around the world.
