Celebrate the Jul season at ASI with Julglädje, Christmas Joy, a festive family performance filled with music, stories, and holiday cheer. Ross Sutter leads the concert with Swedish and Swedish American tunes, joined by Marya Hart on piano and Cheryl Paschke on nyckelharpa. Tomte Kajsa, played by Rose Arrowsmith, invites children into the story, transforming them into tomtar through interactive play. Families sing, laugh, and dance around the Christmas tree, sharing joyful traditions across generations. Last year’s program sold out quickly, so be sure to register early to reserve your spot.
FIKA Café is adding rice porridge to the menu for that day only so that families can try this special treat beloved by Tomte.
The program takes place in Larson Hall, on the second floor of the Nelson Cultural Center. Julglädje tickets include museum admission and access to the Tomte Tales: Legends of Winter exhibit, so families can learn about tomte after the concert!
