The City of Bloomington is hosting its first-ever Juneteenth event to celebrate Black joy and freedom, featuring food trucks, music and art performances, and local business vendors. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865, and was adopted as a federal holiday in 2021 and a state holiday in Minnesota in early 2023.
