There were lots of tulips by the buildings, but many of the spots were still empty. Honestly, the way people talked about it, I thought there were going to be fields of tulips and flowers for a truly magnificent display of colors. It’s not that. The best part was the 3 mile drive through the cool trees and art. There are lots of places to park and get out for amazing family and nature pictures. Don’t forget the people watching. The people were singing, dancing, acting, and just basically having fun, which added to the experience. My family and I enjoyed our time. Don’t just drive through the 3 miles. Get out and enjoy it.
We went to celebrate mothers day today. The flower gardens were very beautiful. The koi pond was fun. The gift shop had a lot of fun things to browse.
The Tulips made my day. The blooms were the true meaning of love. They had vibrant colors and every petal was full of life.
If flowers could speak, tulips would take my ❤️.

We went to the Arb the weekend before mother’s day to try and avoid some crowds and see the wonderful spring flowers blooming. The flowers around the main building on the shorter walking paths were mostly dormant with the tulips being one of the only spring blooms. We arrived at 11am and it was easy to get in and walk around. By the time we left at 2pm — it was much much busier. We did the 3 mile drive and it was so great! Lots of spots to stop and park to get out at each collection. The sculpture garden was a favorite! Don’t forget to go inside the building and see the library and conservatory on the 2nd floor past the cafeteria! Library was closed being a Sunday but thier tiny conservatory was a must!!
Had the annual membership and upgraded to the gold this year. It’s definitely worth it as we enjoy not having to worry about reservations for us or guests. We go often and enjoy the events. Beautiful area and large enough to have your own peaceful walk down a trail if you want to get away from the main areas. Would recommend the tulips in the spring and rose garden even when the roses aren’t in bloom. The lights in December are a good show to take a stroll through. Stop by the gift shop on the way out to grab a souvenir. I want to join some classes they offer when I get around to it.
We came for the winter lights festival and were not impressed. The lights were cool for the most part, but not worth $30 per person. The exhibition was also pretty small. One should be able to hit all the 15 places in half an hour.
It’s a lovely place, but it can get quite crowded. If you’re not a fan of large crowds, I wouldn’t recommend visiting here. Of course, that has nothing to do with the place itself
Mother’s Day weekend was packed, though the staffed helped direct parking. The trees and lilacs were blooming, and the tulip area left me speechless. There was a line of cars coming in, so I suggest on busy days to buy tickets a head of time to keep the cars moving.
