This store is like a maze, and it’s clearly designed that way so you end up walking through the entire floor, unless you already know the shortcuts. Since this is the only IKEA in Minnesota, it gets packed on weekends. Being right next to the Mall of America makes it even busier, but it also means you can easily spend an entire day between IKEA and MOA. Don’t have enough time to do both? No worries, there are plenty of hotels nearby if you want to stretch your trip.
Enjoyed exploring the many show rooms, and picking out a variety of homeware and Swedish food items like chocolate, chips and hot dogs with pickled cabbage and crispy onions
Been here a few times over the years but this place is huge and there’s a lot to look through, plus a variety of foods. So always worth a lookover!
We stopped in the afternoon to pick up some IKEA bags and a few other things and found it not crowded and well organized. plenty of helpful employees.
Love it! The buy-online, pick up-in store process was about as frictionless and hassle-free as we could have ever expected.
It’s IKEA–of course it’s going to be massive and engaging the whole time. I like that most all of them are generally set up the same way and that they update the showcases according to what’s popular at the time. It helps me keep up with trends when I move for work. I just feel like out of all the IKEAs I’ve been to, this one was kind of boring. Most of the items are the same from one country to another, but they seem to make small adjustments according to their local market. I guess in the US I’ve only been to this one, one outside of Chicago, and DC. It is just surprising to me that the products/displays would vary so much from state-to-state–but again, it’s a reflection of the area. It was super busy when we went. Not surprising for a Saturday afternoon. My only major complaint is that the EV chargers are not easily marked. We only saw one sign. It’s on the lower level of the parking deck by the entrance. The cable on the left does not work. Someone was using the one for our parking spot so we had to charge up at MOA. The hot dogs are still good, and cheap, however 😊
Very interesting if you’ve never been. Really enjoyed the showrooms and their food court items are really cheap!
I enjoy bringing my toddler to IKEA for a great affordable lunch/dinner $4.99 for Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, green beans & lingonberry sauce. She likes running around the displays & we are always treated kindly and patiently by staff. Then we hop into the stroller as needed!
