  • 2019 spirit of hospitality winner

    2019 Spirit of Hospitality

Minnesota Super Bowl LII Host Committee

Congratulations to the Minnesota Super Bowl LII Host Committee, the recipient of this year’s Spirit of Hospitality Award, presented annually to an individual or company who has made a significant contribution to the travel and hospitality industry.

  • dsa hall of fame

    2019 Hospitality Hall of Fame

Sally Hanson, Susie Rudenick, Sandy Moe • The Dishwashing "Triplets" • DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington-Minneapolis South • 41, 38 and 37 years of service, respectively

Each day, DoubleTree associates see at least two of the three “sisters” in the cafeteria and in the dish room. Sally, Susie and Sandy have each made an individual impact on everyone they interact with, and they have worked together to not only become liaisons to HR and the department manager but to find ways to better productivity and their work environment. They truly embody what it means to do something wholeheartedly, and many staff cannot imagine that a better kitchen could exist without them.

  • hall of fame winner neito

    2019 Hospitality Hall of Fame

Judy Neito, Banquet Captain • Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America • 31 years of service

Judy has an overflowing file of guest letters commending her hospitality and citing her as the reason why they continue to host their meetings here. She has been nominated for the Diamond Service Awards seven times—winning three—served as the Hotel Care Committee president for the last 20 years, and even sewed up a guest’s ripped dress the night of their award ceremony. As her general manager says, she inspires us all to be better at what we do every day.

  • dsa hall of fame rodriguez

    2019 Hospitality Hall of Fame

Isabel Rodriguez, Housekeeping Supervisor • Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bloomington Minneapolis Airport Area West • 24 years of service

Although the property has gone through many name changes, Isabel has been steadfast in her commitment to its guests and staff, working every housekeeping position there is. Even with her impeccable performance, she is always asking how to improve. Oftentimes, when coworkers compliment her, she responds by saying she only wants the hotel to do well, so they can only hope she knows how truly valued she is. Her husband, Ismael Zavala, is also a 2019 Hospitality Hall of Fame recipient.

  • dsa hall of fame zavala

    2019 Hospitality Hall of Fame

Ismael Zavala, Shuttle Driver • Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bloomington Minneapolis Airport Area West • 24 years of service

As the first impression that many guests have, Ismael makes sure everything is the best it can be, from his welcoming manner to the immaculate state he keeps the shuttle. He regularly puts in the extra effort to drive guests directly to their cars in Park and Fly, help the maintenance team, or stay late, and his acute sense of his vehicle ensures the service never falters. His wife, Isabel Rodriguez, is also a 2019 Hospitality Hall of Fame recipient.
