This custom-built ice rink is located at the North entrance of MOA® and is built around the iconic Star. Presented by UCare®, the 12,000 square-foot ice rink will open to the public on Saturday, December 8 and will be open through January 27. Skate the Star is free and open to the public during select Mall hours. Guests are welcome to use their own skates, or skate rentals will be available for $5 with 100 percent of skate rental proceeds going directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities (BGCTC). Funds raised from skate rentals will help the BGCTC provide activities and support to more than 9,000 young people in kindergarten through graduation from high school. The Minneapolis Ski Club hosts ski jumping competitions throughout the winter at Hyland's Bush Lake Ski Jump that feature Olympic-level athletes. Cross-country ski trails are another activity offered at Hyland Lake Park Reserve. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is Making Spirits Bright again this year. Enjoy live holiday music, lighting of the trees, breakfast and photos with Santa and more!
