This place was entertaining and somewhat educational. It’s self-guided with lots of interactive exhibits & photo ops, so bring a few fun-loving friends or family members to snap pics, compare experiences, and help you pose. It takes about 45 minutes, start to finish. We had fun, and I’m glad we checked it out, but it’s a bit overpriced.
This is a GREAT place to take the family for a fun day out or even a date night. I went twice in a 3 week span and it wasn’t any less entertaining the second time. The staff is great, they explain the exhibits and how to get the best pictures. There’s always someone walking around so if you have questions you can ask right away. We will definitely go again and again and again…. You get it. Go check it out!
I visited the Museum of Illusions at the Mall of America and had a pretty fun time! It’s definitely one of those places where your camera is your best friend—there are tons of cool photo ops and optical illusions that will make you laugh and scratch your head. Some of the illusions are things you’ve probably seen online, so if you’re someone who spends a lot of time on TikTok or Instagram, it might not feel super new. Still, seeing them in person is a different experience and definitely more engaging.
It wasn’t too busy when I went, which was actually great because I had the chance to take my time, enjoy the exhibits, and not feel rushed. That said, I do wish there was a bit more to do. The space isn’t very big, and it took less than an hour to go through everything. For the price, I expected a few more interactive elements or unique illusions.
Overall, I’d recommend it if you’re already at the Mall of America and want to do something a little different—especially with friends or family. It’s a good spot to laugh, take creative pictures, and see some reality-bending visuals. Just go in knowing it’s a short experience and maybe plan something else afterward to make the most of your day!
Really nice man helped us take photos – his name was something that rhymed with either blue or green but I don’t remember what is was. Whoever reads this will know what I’m talking about. I hope he wins his contest against his co workers!
This was like a big playground for my partner and I… we had the absolute best time. We spent about 40 minutes just messing around taking silly pictures. The illusions were worth it in my opinion.
I came here with my partner and it was a blast! Really cool illusions and the staff were super helpful with demonstrating the illusions, especially the window illusion and the food bowl. I love the vortex tunnel especially, really disorienting in a good way. I recommend coming here with at least one other person, as most of them work with another person 🥰
Was interesting but small not really worth $20 a person. The kids did have fun though. It was cool how they give you photo ideas for the rooms. The person in the shop was very nice & helpful.
