Excellent playground for a variety of ages. Has sprinkler tunnel for cooling off. Shaded picnic tables for reservations or first come first serve. Sand area was replaced with new playground equipment. Able to use Porta johns or go inside for restrooms. Has water fountains.
This park is fantastic! There’s plenty of parking, lots of open space, and a beautiful lake. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. One of the great features is the rounded umbrellas, which provide protection from rain in case of sudden weather changes.
Great part to visit but it can get very busy. It’s a large park with many options of a picnic or hiking or many other activities.
Went on a really hot day. Loved how they had their mist sprinkler on for the occasional cool down for the kiddos.
I loved how spacious it is and the multiple picnic table throughout the field. I can see it as a great place for hosting an outdoor big birthday party.
Came out for a long walk and found great trails, clean paths and friendly visitors! Wish the entrance to the lake trail was more clearly marked when entering from the west. Be sure to look out for a paved picnic platform and look out into the clearing towards the lake to find it!
First time here with a friend. We rented a canoe for three of us to use (two adults, one child). Price was reasonable at $12/hr. Employees were great and helped us launch the canoe. Lake was beautiful and very clear. It was neat to see turtles, egrets, fish, and ducks. We did a short walk down one of the trails and it was nice! Didn’t explore everything but the parts we did were great!
The playground was amazing with a huge variety of things to do on it. A kids giant game of hide and seek / tag would be epic. Unfortunately when I was here it felt like 43C with the humidity. My kids would love to come back.
Highland Park is a great place to hike. Rollerblade or on the bicycles. Extensive trails. Great playground for kids to have fun. Lots of areas to have picnic on top of the hill by the playground and other places really nice
