Ordered a prinsesstårta since my previous go-to store has closed. Pick up was very easy, and the cake looked great (although name was misspelled). Unfortunately the cake didn’t live up to expectations. The cake layers were dry, there wasn’t enough raspberry jam, and the marzipan was too thick. Would suggest other bakeries for something this complex.
We loved our breakfast with coffee at the Bloomington Taste of Scandinavia. I enjoyed the farmer’s skillet; 3-eggs, red potatoes, bacon, onions, and cheddar cheese; and a Swedish pancake with syrup. My husband enjoyed his classic breakfast; 2-eggs, hash browns, bacon, and a regular pancake (instead of toast). Our waitress was very busy because the place was packed, nevertheless, she was attentive and promptly brought us more coffee, half n half, a box to go, and filled coffee cups to go at our request. We plan to return soon! ❤️
Lots of variety for Scandinavian food and the lefse was good! Restaurant is tucked into corner of grocery store, but much bigger space than one might think. Service was inattentive, cordial at best, which made for a longer meal even as a single diner. Location is just 3 minutes off highway, nice and convenient.
I had a nice experience here. I came for some baked goods and they had a very nice variety! I got a macadamia nut cookie. It was very affordable! The service its self was okay. The employee asking me if I wanted my change when all I did was walk in and buy a cookie. It was odd because the change wasn’t just a few pennies and I wasn’t dining in or anything. Other than that it was pretty good!
Classic diner atmosphere with standard diner fare and fun Scandinavian food options at reasonable pricing. Food was good and filling. Inside the grocery store immediately to the right. Free Wi-Fi with password on signage.
The food was a bit bland and plain. We were excited to try it but we were disappointed in the taste of the food. We had two different meals – one had eggs stuffed inside lefse and the other had lefse on the side. It felt like this place was just a traditional American diner with Lefse on the side. Lefse from family will always be better.
The service has improved greatly since my original review. There WAS a staff member (manager I believe) there that had a tendency to come off poorly (rude and acted like customers were an inconvenience). Things are much better now.
This little cafe is hidden inside Festival Foods Grocery. Food is consistently yummy. Some favorites of ours are: loaded chorizo hash browns (pictured), wild rice omelette, fried chicken, and wild rice meatloaf.
Weekend mornings can be busy so be prepared to wait. They do take reservations for large groups (6 or more I believe). Tons of parking!
