July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence signing and founding of the United States of America.
Explore 250 years of the people that helped make Minnesota what it is today through an exhibit and interactive activities. From Indigenous history to recent immigrant groups that now call Minnesota home, come explore what makes Minnesota great. Reenactors will be onsite to answer your questions on the American Revolution, the history of the fur trade, and women’s suffrage.
Activities and presentations will include the following:
- American Flag History
- Revolution-era Clothing
- Cockade Creation
- George Washington & the Revolution
- Women of the Revolution
- Weapons of the Revolution
- Signing your own name to the Declaration of Independence!
- And, finishing the weekend on July 5th, two fashion shows at Noon and 2 p.m. will honor our local Minnesotans and their clothing and dress customs throughout the last 250 years.
