This Memorial Day weekend, Minnesotans will lay 200,000 flags for 200,000 heroes at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. This will be the first time in 35 years that every veteran buried there will have an American flag on their grave.

Mall of America will host a full weekend of activities to honor the weekend, including displays and monuments recognizing veterans, live music entertainment, and volunteer training and organization. Volunteers will leave from Mall of America on Saturday, May 26 to go to Fort Snelling and lay flags in shifts.
